Evidence Performed by Leonardo da Vinci

A self-directed personal academic initiative undertaken in Milan to overcome a critical communication and social vulnerability. Lacking formal university training, Leonardo was routinely dismissed as an unlettered artisan by elite humanist circles. To remediate this baseline educational gap, he launched a structured language acquisition project, filling the pages of what became the Codex Trivulzianus with extensive vocabulary logs and grammatical declension drills. This was a strategic personal project intended to grant him direct access to classical scientific literature, but his erratic execution and lack of institutional guidance resulted in a failure to gain written fluency, keeping his later scientific insights isolated from contemporary scholars.
