Served as a trainee crew member aboard the Tres Hombres, a traditional, engine-less working cargo brigantine carrying eco-compliant rum, wine, and olive oil. Joined the vessel in Bridgetown, Barbados, and completed a 9-day transit to the main port of Grenada (St. George's). Absorbed the root mechanics of traditional rigging geometry through an intensive, hands-on experiential education framework. Weathered a critical overnight emergency involving dragging anchor toward a sandy lee shore; deployed a second anchor down the chain in the dark to successfully arrest the vessel's movement, which created an immense physical challenge the following day when manually hauling the heavy, compounded ground tackle to get underway purely under sail.
